Well, many people do not know that Mummy 3 is actually inspired from real life, because the tomb of the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty actually exists, in Xi’an, China. Moreover, remember the crossbow traps in the tomb scene? Well, they are actually based on reality, and Chinese archaeologists say that the slow progression of the excavation in real life is due to the fact that the site is filled with similar traps. Then, since I mentioned the world-famous actor Brendan Fraser, you should know that he and John Hannah are the only ones who starred in all three Mummy movies, which gained them international fame and recognition. Another particularly interesting fact about Mummy 3 is that Luke Ford, the actor who plays the son of Maria Bello and Brendan Fraser, is only 14 and 13, respectively, younger than them.

People who have seen Mummy 1 and 2 know that Imhotep is the name of the mummy in them. Well, the final scene in Mummy 3 is shot at a night club called Imhotep’s. Cool touch, right? Maria Bello stated that while she loved acting in Mummy 3, one of her best memories from that period is playing a football game in the desert with 15 stunts who were all dressed as mummies. Nevertheless, Mummy 3 is an exceptional movie, that rose to the expectations and even topped the first and the second movie. There are not many sequels that can top the original movie, but Mummy 3 managed to do that.

Young son of Rick O’Conner has now grown up and is an archeologist in his own right however still does not follow the rules of his father, or his advise. After discovering the Emperors of China’s Tomb trouble starts as some of the bad guys get together to release the mummy. A Chinese General is one of the first baddies to get involved, holding others to ransom to help release the entombed Emperor.

Directed by Stephen Sommers from the original Mummy movies, this movie plot was quite like the original series of Mummy films. Taking into account that the cast and crew where often the same as the previous movies, this helped the ease of the production. The script was completed in 2005 however production like many films waited for the go ahead by investors and producers, which is why the film was not released until 2008. If you are a fan of special effects then the Mummy 3 is definitely a film not to miss out on.

Jet Li was introduced to this popular series in the third Mummy, taking on the role as the evil Emperor Han, who was cursed during his lifetime and awakened by O’Connell’s son, Alexander Ruper O’Connel. Alexander, or Alex, is played by Luke Ford. Brendan Fraser’s wife, Evelyn “Evy” Carnahan O’Connell, is played by Maria Bello.

Michelle Yeoh plays the ancient sorceress, Zi Juan, who curses Emperor Han. Russell Wong plays General Ming Guo, her lover, who is killed by the Emperor, inciting the sorceress’ wrath. Isabella Leong plays Lin, the woman who agrees to help the O’Connell’s enter the tomb. Lin is the only character who is fully aware of what is going on in the tomb and has possession of the only weapon capable of killing the Emperor.

David Calder plays Professor Roger Wilson, the financial backer of the expedition into the tomb of the ancient emperor. John Hannah reprises his role as the loveable Jonathan “Jon” Carnahan.

The three main assassins are played by Jacky Wu, Binghua Wei and Guo Jing. Jack Wu’s character is also known as Wu Jing. Anthony Wong Chau-Sang plays General Yang, the leader of a nationalist group who is also heading an expedition. This all star cast helps the Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor to be just as successful as 1 and 2 were.

The movie started to form as an idea in March 2006 and immediately, casting issues crept up. The producers knew that the movie would involve no previous characters, except for those of Rick O’Connell, which had previously been played by Brendan Fraser, and Evelyn Carnahan O’Connell, which had previously been played by Rachel Weisz. Being that these two characters are the only ones appearing in Mummy 3 that appeared in the other movies, an entire new cast needed to be assembled. And, those weren’t the only initial problems with the Mummy 3 cast.

Initially, Rachel Weisz had said that she would love to reprise the role of Evelyn O’Connell, but removed herself from the film shortly before filming was about to start. Brendan Fraser was the first to resume his role, and he did so in April 2006. When the vision for the movie changed, the role of Jonathan Carnahan was reintroduced, and John Hannah reprised the role.

As the treasure hunting crew get their act together and travel to different countries in search of riches and glory or just another piece for the museum the movie starts out with a thrilling chase after the establishment of the story line and plot. Once again there are creatures from the dead who come back to life to fight off the grave robbers and there is always more than one hero until the very end where Brendon steals the light from everybody and seeming wins the battle single handedly. His wife and her brother tag along for old time sakes which just help to bring the comedy and the laughs into the picture. Once you have seen the Mummy 3 after seeing the other original two movies you will start to notice the differences in the movies. If you where a big fans of the first two movies then it are recommended that you go to the third however if you were not a fan then you will just be watching the same movie again and again.

In the third movie the Mummy 3 we move out of the deserts of Egypt and into the heart of china where many ancient treasures can be found for these two adventurers and archeologists. The chase bad guys which are not mummies this time but are still creatures from the undead. The special effects are just as good as the first two movies and the acting is about the same which was never good in the first place. One of the more exciting parts is the several action kung fu style parts where several of the main characters and some others get right into some major fighting action. With the extra additions which takes the movie away from the original two in the desert this movie works well on many levels and if you like the first two movies then the Mummy 3 would be one to put on your watch list.

The movie was written during 2006 and was written with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz’s characters in mind, as well as adding the character of their grown up son. Filming was set to begin in 2007. February 2007 saw the casting for the movie begin. It was at this time that the director Rob Cohen was said to have unofficially announced that Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh would be holding starring roles in the film. Official confirmation did not occur until May 2007. Brendan Fraser re-joined the cast in April 2007 but Rachel Weisz did not. Ms Weisz cited problems with the script, as well as just having given birth to her son. The film was shot in Montreal and in China. It was first thought that the movie would be known as Mummy3: Curse of the Dragon, but was in fact The Mummy3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Luke Ford was cast in the role of Alex O’Connell and during May Maria Bello was cast in the role left by Rachel Weisz. During a news conference held in Shanghai, Maria Bello told reporters that Rob Cohen had created a new Evelyn, a force to be reckoned with showing great skill in martial arts and shooting.

Brendon Fraser as the hero again and from what we can see is one of the main parts in the movie because everything that happens revolves around him or his experiences in one way or another. This time instead of fighting mummies they are attacked by the terracotta warriors that the Chinese made so many thousands of years ago. Fighting ancient Chinese magic is not the same as the Egyptian kind which the cast find out in rather a few funny ways. Overall the action was constant and the movie kept peoples interest for the whole hour and a half which is a credit to the first two movies and the actors that are in them.

The stars include Brendan Fraser as Rick O’Connell and Jet Li as Emperor Han, the first Chinese Emperor. Maria Bello acts as Rick’s wife, Evelyn while Luke Ford Acts as the couple’s son, Alex. Michelle Yeoh acts as the Chinese witch, Zi Yuan. Others are John Hanna who acts as Evelyn’s brother and Anthony Wong Chau-Sang as Han’s supporter, General Yang.

The plot of the movie starts with Emperor Han’s conquests and his quest for power and immortality. He goes on to find the witch Zi Yuan who has the ability of giving him the power of immortality. He also desires the witch, so when she falls in love with the emperor’s General, he is infuriated and seeks revenge. He manages to get Zi Yuan to perform the immortality spell on him, but it turns out that the witch actually cast a spell on the emperor to turn him and his entire army into a terracotta army. The movie flash forwards to 1946, when Alex manages to find the emperor’s tomb. What follows is a battle to exterminate the emperor forever.

The movie was a big commercial success, having had gross revenue of $401,128,639 with a $145 million budget. The 111 minute movie was shot on location in Montreal and Shanghai, China. The DVD version of the movie was later released in December 2008 and sold over 2,500,000 copies.

This happened after he has conned into awakening the most feared emperor who was sleeping. However the shaken young explorer was faced with a decision to seek for wisdom of his parents both of who underwent the same experience.

The question was should the fierce monarch prove that they were capable of awakening his most powerful terra army? His plans for dominating the world will be put into action. But the main factor that was not considered by  this emperor Mummy while making his power mad plans stronger was the O’Connell and before this battle gets completed , the gruesome monarch will have to get satisfied with the family that is not afraid by a few reanimated corpses.
